What I Love Wednesday: Gymboree + Bubble Ooodles Giveaway!
We’ve been trial-ing toddler classes!
If you told me a few years ago I’d be paying for and taking my child to “classes” at the age of 17 months, I’d have laughed you out the door. Especially since I can blow bubbles and sing songs for him in the comfort of my own home. But now I know getting out of the house and into social situations is key to a well-rounded, happy toddler. I know that playing in our house is not the same as playing at the park, soft play room, a friend’s house, or a kid-gym.
All the experiences were fun, but I couldn’t help but choose Gymboree as the winner…it’s amazing. Ethan’s “trial” class was a little overwhelming for him, there is just SO much going on, but he had a blast climbing on all the specially designed equipment, tossing colorful balls around the room, chasing the Ooodles bubbles (THE most unbelievable bubbles in the world), dancing to the fun music, and interacting with the other kids. I think he could have stayed for another hour, just checking out all the cool gear.
Already, Ethan has learned to climb a ramp on his toes, crawl through a short tunnel, and his balance is greatly improving due to all the different surface levels and textures. This place was also a great opportunity to sharpen his “backing down stairs” skills. He is noticeably more interested and capable in climbing—he scaled a quilt rack at Hobby Lobby yesterday in about two seconds and can’t get enough of the jungle gym at the park. (We may be creating a monster here)
During the first class, he got a little overstimulated during a couple activities where kids were running and getting a little rambunctious, so during those times we just did something else. And even after seeing it a few times, he is still pretty terrified of the giant “parachute” so we’ll have to work up to that. He is less scared of it every week. I just can’t get over how his face lights up and his confidence soars upon entering the gym. I know this is going to be a good thing for The Peanut.
Ethan is always mesmerized by the bubbles part of Gymboree. I swear the room is magic because when the teacher blows the bubbles, they just suspend in the air, floating forever while the children run through, chasing and popping them. “Bubbles” is now one of Little Man’s favorite words to say. Don’t get me wrong, we blow bubbles like crazy at home…I never leave home without a bottle or two. But these aren’t just any bubbles…they are Gymboree brand Bubble Ooodles which I have to say, are the best bubbles I’ve ever seen. You can catch them on your finger, they rest on toddler heads (and dogs—just ask Dewey) without popping, and nest on the ground for a bit too…I’ve actually found them under cabinets up to two days later. Ethan is completely obsessed. Want some??? Keep reading…
We signed up at Gymboree for a month to see how it goes. The monthly rate is very reasonable and includes four classes PLUS four Open Gym opportunities, perfect for super hot or rainy afternoons.
SO, ready for a giveaway?!!?
I haven’t done one for a while because, well, that’s not the purpose of my blog. BUT, I enjoy giving away things I find amazing, so I grabbed an extra Bubble Ooodles wand set and will give it away to one lucky reader! They aren’t expensive, just a little hard to find (only sold at Gymboree stores and gyms…unless you want to pay triple on Amazon.com. Refills are available at Gymboree.com, but not the wands). Everyone likes free stuff, right?
All you have to do is include the word BUBBLES when you leave a comment. You’ll get a second entry if you go “Like” my Facebook page (you must be a new Lik-er).
I’ll randomly choose a winner on Friday, June 15—it will be announced on the blog and I’ll alert them by email. The winner’s life and the lives of their children will surely be changed by these A-mazing bubbles!
Anyone else doing toddler classes? Which one? How is it?
