We’re on the Mend

2011 December 16

Wow it has been a long, painful week.

Ethan and I have both been sick and, to make matters worse, Stu was out of town. From Monday morning to Thursday night it was coughing, snot, sleepy eyes, crabby faces, and lots of whimpering (from both of us). All I wanted to do was curl up in my bed with an endless supply of hot tea and Lifetime movies. But with the Peanut more mobile then ever, it was impossible.

Today I feel MUCH better. Ethan on the other hand, has his first ear infection and is on antibiotics. Even though he was acting pretty normal, I had a feeling we better get him checked out. Nothing like a Friday trip to the doctor! He should be feeling better very soon though—that augmentin is good stuff!

So what did we miss this week? Oh, well just seven days of birthday party, christmas gift, and travel preparations. Add to that a a few workouts at the gym, play dates with friends, and a couple sunny, warmish days and it is a lot to miss out on. I feel like I’ve been robbed!

BUT, at least we won’t be sick for our journey West to my parent’s house. My mom has worked her fingers to the bone making the house and tree and everything a Winter Wonderland for us. Oh who am I kidding, it’s all for Ethan.

This weekend Stu is on major baby duty so I can do some catching up. I hope I have enough time!! We are also celebrating our family Christmas tomorrow. I got a message that Santa will make an early drop off in the form of a LeapFrog Activity Table, stacking cups, and some other unknown goodies (from family and friends). We can’t wait for Ethan to see it all!

Holiday Travel Tip: I ordered a bunch of stuff we’ll need from Alice.com and had it shipped for FREE to my parents house. Alice.com is like an online Target—everything you could need in one place. For the trip, I ordered things like Happy Baby purees (I still make Ethan’s purees , but these are great for travel), diaper detergent, dog food (yes, Dewey is going too), baby soap/shampoo, and some other essentials. This way we don’t have to worry about packing it and adding weight to our already heavy suitcases.
