Stupid Space Shuttle…

2012 April 23
by Becky

My neighbor, Cara, and I headed out last Tuesday with grand plans of seeing the space shuttle on it’s way to the Air & Space Museum at Dulles Airport (my favorite museum so far). My plan was to share dozens of incredible shuttle photos with you.

The news and about a million websites said it would fly right over the Potomac, two blocks from our house, between 10am and 11am. We packed up all three kids and walked a few minutes Northeast.

NASA, I’m just gonna say  it. You lied!!!!

The shuttle flew over early—around 9:50am. And again at 9:56am.

We arrived at the waterfront at 9:59am. Had we known there was ANY chance of a government project running ahead of schedule, we would have arrived earlier. I figured we’d be standing there for at least 30 minutes waiting.

Yeah, we saw it, but was WAYYYY over, across the river, a tiny speck on the sky. So technically, I can say I witnessed the big event. But OMG, I was so annoyed.

So instead, I started snapping pictures of Ethan, who was sporting his Cardinals tee and in the mood to walk all over the place. He’s cuter than any ole’ space shuttle anyway.

Becky what a bummer!!! How neat it would have been to see the shuttle fly over on its way to the space museum.

Ethan looks adorable!! I cannot wait to see the running video!!

Have fun in Scottsbluff and enjoy the wedding.
