Our First Looooong Night at Home

2011 February 12
by bvoboril

It has almost been 24 hours since Ethan was discharged, and every minute has been amazing!  Yes, we are pretty exhausted from our first night with him, but it’s worth every minute of lost sleep.

We have nothing close to a schedule right now, since Ethan was only eating on demand for a couple days before coming home.  We just left last night up to him—when he woke up, we fed him.  He ate about every 2 to 2.5 hours, which seemed about right for now.  It’s amazing that just a few days ago he could barely stay awake for a bottle, and now he’s inhaling them or nursing for 40 minutes or more!  He is a hungry little guy.

We will definitely be keeping the blog going…now is the super fun part!  So please keep checking back.  I’ll try to post a few times a week but I’m not promising anything right now…we need a few days to catch up with this new life.

Visitors are welcome!  Just please give us a call and let us know when you’d like to stop by (we will put decent clothes on).  Please don’t come if you’ve felt at all sick in the last 48 hours, and please forgive us for the hand washing/sanitizing requests when you come…but that was our doctors suggestion to keep Ethan nice and healthy.

We cannot wait to show off our little guy!!!

    Becky and Stu,

How wonderful to have your son home and love your phrase “…catch up on our new life…” so true! I was wondering how your first night went! He is your
    New Years/Valentines Day blessing!

I think of you often…Great Aunt Linda Kosch

Thanks Linda! He’s wearing the PJs you sent…they are so perfect. Thank you again for thinking of us.
